Today I got restocked up on my fruits and veggies, made a salad for
small group and a large veggie tray for tomorrow’s
volleyball tournament. We had small group and then we
went to the movies. This was my first day back to real

Today we went to an all day volleyball tournament for my daughter’s

me to interview me to see if they wanted to feature me

Today I went to the gym, went to a parents meeting at school, and
shopped for a new pair of jeans. I think I finally
found a pair that look good on me. I have been on the
hunt for awhile and most of the clothes I buy are always
cause I got a good deal. It is funny cause as I was
coming down in size I was just happier to fit in smaller
sizes and I wasn’t too picky about how they looked and
now I am determined to now only buy what looks good on
me. I realize that just because something is a deal, if
your not going to wear it – it isn’t much of a deal at

Today I helped to crafts at my daughters school for their Christmas
shop, went to flower factory, and ran errands. Later we

that I am being selected for April’s issue of Experience
Life Magazine. They were looking for someone who had a
significant lifestyle change that has maintained their
weight loss and exercise routines. They were especially
interested in my raw vegan lifestyle. Had 1 bm.

Today I worked out, went shopping at Salvation Army and found a

daughter had a half day so we went out to Panera Bread

made dinner and lunches and did homework with the little
one. We also had to make a puppet and write a facts
sheet about it. Also did laundry and homework for

Day 700 Friday, November 14, 2008
Today I dropped off the kids at school, worked out at the gym and
went to a funeral that so inspired me and reminded me
that I want to be a better person and Christian. Today
I also started my fast. It has occurred to me that I am
still struggling with maintenance and food issues and I
can never give up being on my guard. The good news is
that I won’t let it get out of control again and it
needs to be nipped in the bud. So this fast is a
refocusing and a help to get me back to the discipline I
need to only eat raw foods. I confess that I have been
experimenting a bit too much lately with bites here and
there and they all add up. Somehow when we get to
maintenance we think we don’t have to be so strict and
it is a lie. I have not weighed myself for a few months
due to trying to get away from being obsessed by the
scale. I figured I would let my clothing be my guide
and now my size 4’s are getting a bit too tight on me so
I need to real it back in! I wish I could be
disciplined and desire to only eat 100% raw – 100% of
the time. I guess it is all part of the growing
process. Really when will I learn!
Also this morning I had many stressful thoughts. With as bad as
the economy is and all of the uncertainty around - the
message is the same and it is everywhere we turn. It has
affected many of us personally and to those close by
(friends, family, etc.). Every radio station this
morning was saying similar messages. I found myself
becoming more and more overwhelmed, and stressed out. I
couldn't help but think I really need to do my exercise
today because I know it will help me relieve some of
this stress and get my mind off all that is going on
around me. Exercising this morning did help me but
really the source of my strength and stress reliever
came from above and in HIS word! I am so thankful I
serve and awesome and Living Real God - Jesus! He never
forsakes us or leaves us! Today I chose to put my hope
and trust in HIM! I thank God for my health and that I
can move freely and exercise this body of mine! Had 1

Today I went to the fruit and veggie market early this
morning and came home and made my raw pumpkin cheesecake

frosting and dinner for a girl in my small group at
church. Then I picked up flowers at Costco and wrapped
up a ton of roses for teachers, my bible study table,

Today we got new tires put on the van and then we did
some more Christmas returns. My husband got a stomach
virus and then went to bed and my brother came over and

was a really good conversation since He has been

about the our bodies systems. It was interesting to
hear his take on a lot of the “experts books.” He
disagrees with a lot of aspects but can see how things

Today I relaxed at home, did laundry, started sprouting
some oat groates and alfalfa sprouts, and experimented
with a few raw recipes I made raw grawnola and
chocolate mint pudding out of thai coconuts. My kids
liked the pudding. I think it could have been a bit
sweeter. I also helped my husband make his breakfast
skillet dinner which is a lot of work. I am looking
forward to getting back into my regular routine again.

Today I began my fast and am trying mentally to get into
the groove with it. I really don’t enjoy fasting but
find it necessary based on my own lack of discipline on
the day to day. I really can’t believe how cheating a
bit here and there over the holidays has really caught
up with me. I also know it has to do with indulging in
so many nuts and raw desserts like cheesecake. Even
though its raw it still has a ton of calories. My
daughter stayed home sick today so I didn’t work out at
the gym like usual. We watched t.v. together and I got
caught up with my sister I hadn’t talked to for awhile.

Day 5 of my fast and I just finished my exercising. The kids are
home today due to the schools being cancelled so I slept
in. I need to get to the store today cause it is my
night to cook for the family. I am making chicken
fajitas for all of them. I wish I didn't have to cook
while fasting but I will get through it. Anyways the
last few days have been a lot easier mentally. The last
two days I have barely drank any of the MC lemonde. I
made two liters and it has lasted me 3 days. I have
drank this drink so much in the past I really don't like
it - but I find it easy (prep-time/cleanup required is
minimal) so I continue to drink it. Over the weekend
when I have a bit more time I will probably do a switch
to fresh fruits and veggies. I have cranberries, fresh
greens (kale, spinach), carrots apples, parsley, etc. to
juice up. I even want to make a V-8 type of juice to get
use up some of my tomatoes I have. So I am looking
forward to some variety. I also came back down another
2 pounds since yesterday.
Later in the day I edited the story that will be in the
May issue of Lifetime Fitnesses magazine.

Day 6 of my fast and I am down another pound which is so cool. I
only have another 7 pounds until I am back to my normal
weight. Hopefully that means just another week of
fasting. I exercised earlier today, did laundry and did
a bunch of shoveling outside, also went SAD grocery
shopping for the family. We are just getting dumped on
like crazy here and it is so cold. I also juiced
earlier today. I needed a bit of variety and it tasted

Day 8 of my fast and I lost another pound today. The last few days
I have been freezing. I worked out in the morning and
also did my bible study. Then I came home and made
lunch for the kids and blogged a bit. I also juiced.

Day 9 of my fast and I am at the same weight. I went to bible
study earlier today and then I worked out at the gym in
the afternoon and then went shopping. Had 1 bm without
the help of aides. Consumed:

Today’s exercise: 60 minutes of yoga – I feel like I am getting my
flexibility back again. Did today’s class and was doing
great. Much more flexible than usual.

Day10 of my fast and I am now down 2 more pounds. Four more pounds
to go to be back at my normal weight. I figure I can
get there by Day 15 and then I will decide if I want to
stop fasting or not. Today I worked out at the gym and
did my bible study. I am looking forward to watching
LOST tonight on T.v. Also made a green lemonade after

gym today, did my bible study, and committed to a short
term job which I am nervous about but feel I need to

Day14 of my fast and we are hosting small group. So I have a lot
of cleaning to do and we still need to go through and
pick out what pictures we are going to select to send

was killing me but then I had a b.m. Felt like I had to
go more but felt better afterwards. Had 1 bm.

fast. I am fitting much better into my clothes again
and things are good. I feel like I could go

I decided to break my fast today. Partly to get my system used to
eating again and partly because it may be too hard to
find fresh fruit juices while I am on my trip. I am
very satisfied with my results. I am going to try to
still eat as little as possible and for the next few
days still do mostly liquids. Today I got 2 days of my
homework done for bible study, worked on laundry,
homework with the kids, and exercised. I also juiced.

It has been awhile since I last journaled. I guess “life
happened”. I had went back to work and got extremely
busy so after I got back from Houston where I was away
from my computer I got out of the habbit of journaling.
But today is a significant day since I am beginning a
new fast. I had planned for this day since the last
fast I ended in the beginning of February. So here I
am. This fast was originally planned to help me
celebrate my 40th birthday next month – so it
could help me mentally prepare for it and obviously help
me feel and look my best on that day. But now it is
about so much more than I had anticipated. God is good
as he knew how stressful life was going to be at this
time and how much more this fast would be about and how
much I needed it. I will be taking this time to be in
prayer and in HIS word and hopefully finding him – to
experience His peace, refuge and strength. I am so in
NEED of that right now. This fast will also help me so
in the stresses of life right now I won’t be turning to
eating like I often do when I am stressed.
I will be doing a mixture of my “own” thing again. MC lemonade,
water, fruit and vegetable juices, and green tea. I
just got done with my exercising with my daughter and
had some greentea lemonade. Today I am going to spend
time getting caught up on laundry and cleaning out my
refrigerator (weird thing to do while fasting but it so
needs it!) Consumed:

Day 2 of my fast and the inevitable happened that I was fearing.
My husband lost his job yesterday. It is a very scary
place to be with today’s economy challenges and neither
of us working. Again I am happy I am fasting so I don’t
turn to food for comfort. It will force me to turn to
God which is where I need to go.
Today I am going to exercise and then spend more time getting
caught up around the house. Consumed:

Day 3 of my fast and I am feeling better today. Yesterday I had
such a headache and I am not sure why since I am still
drinking some greentea. Anyways today I am going to
exercise, do some grocery shopping and work on cleaning
the house. It is funny how with working so many things
got behind in the house. I just finally got caught up
on laundry and I NEVER thought I would do that. God
seems to be telling me to take refuge in him, trust him,
etc. I am trying to take one day at a time and find my
hope in my faith and in HIM. Consumed:

Day 4 of my fast and I am feeling fine. Kind of bummed I had to
have someone come out and repair my garage door so I had
to wait around all day for him to come and then pay him
unnecessary money I don't have right now.
But I did get in my exercising and ran a few errands. I
am going to do some overdue cleaning next. I have been
drinking 1 large glass of juice a day (not a lot I know)
but just enough to give me some energy. Consumed:

same thing for half the amount that I normally do from
when I got it at Costco. I am very frustrated Costco
doesn’t have their Kirkland brand anymore. Consumed:

Decided to take a break from my fast. I think yesterday’s events

the morning, went to the sales meeting and then we went

I am so busy lately. Haven’t had time to journal lately since I
went back to selling comcast products. I have been
fasting again since Monday and so busy haven’t had time

master cleanse lemonade but very little. Today I
actually found time to work out and do my bible study
since it was raining outside. I did however make a sale
so pretty happy about that. I stopped and got a juice
